B2B Lunch Club

Privacy Policy

Effective September 18, 2026 (version 2026-09-18).

B2B Lunch Club is a service of Business Tax Incentives, LLC, 500 N St, Ste 25, Sacramento, CA 95814 ("B2B Lunch Club", "the Club", "we"). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit b2blunchclub.com or join the Club, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our text messages and emails, and the member records behind them.

1. What we collect

What you give us when you apply or join

Your name, firm, professional lane (for example "Tax / CPA" or "Business law"), mobile phone number, email address, city and preferred lunch Friday. The public URL of your LinkedIn profile. Your answer to the screening question about the share of your clients that are businesses. Your acceptance of the Terms of Service and your consent to receive text messages, together with the exact wording you agreed to, the date and time, and the IP address and browser you used. If your city or lane is full: your interest in a waitlist.

What we record as you use the Club

Your RSVP replies (YES, NO, DROP), the table and restaurant you were seated at, the members you sat with, your follow-up trio assignments, and whether you were the trio lead. Your 0–10 rating and any comments after each lunch, and whether you told us you missed a lunch. Every text and email we send you and every reply you send us, with delivery status from the carrier. Voicemails and their transcripts if you call a Club phone number. Your membership status, plan, and the history of changes to it.

What we collect automatically

The campaign and landing page that brought you to us, from the link you clicked (for example a `utm_campaign` code). Basic usage of the website, such as pages viewed and forms started, through PostHog analytics. PostHog stores an identifier in a cookie and in your browser's local storage so that the same visitor is not counted twice. We do not use advertising cookies or pixels. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, time of request) kept for security and reliability.

What we obtain from others

From Twilio, whether the phone number you entered is a mobile line that can receive text messages. From LinkedIn's public page for the profile URL you gave us, the headline shown to visitors who are not logged in. We use it only to check that the professional lane you chose matches what you do. We do not log in to LinkedIn or collect anything beyond that public page. From Stripe, the status of your subscription and payments, and the last four digits and brand of your card for display. We never receive or store your full card number.

2. How we use it

To run the Club. Text and email you about each lunch, confirm your seat, book restaurants, seat you with members in other lanes, introduce your follow-up trio, and ask for your rating afterwards.

To keep tables balanced. Cap and recruit professional lanes per city, check your lane against your LinkedIn headline, and place you on a waitlist when a lane is full.

To bill you. Through Stripe, at the price shown when you join, including any referral credits.

To measure and improve. Understand which restaurants members rate well, which advertising brings members in each lane, and how the website is used.

To communicate about your membership. Payment problems, changes to dates or restaurants, changes to these terms.

To protect the Club. Prevent abuse, enforce the Terms of Service, keep an audit trail of changes made to member records, and comply with law.

Some of this is automated. A software system, not a person, reads your text replies to work out whether you said yes or no, reads restaurant replies to confirm bookings, assigns tables so that each table mixes lanes, and assigns follow-up trios so that you meet new people. You can always reply to a text with a plain question and a person will answer.

3. Who we share it with

Other members. Sharing your contact information with other members is the point of the Club and a condition of membership (Terms of Service, section 5). Members seated at your table, members assigned to your follow-up trio, and members of your city's WhatsApp group can see your name, firm, professional lane, email address and mobile phone number. Members agree to use that information only for Club-related contact. After you cancel we stop including you in new trios, but members who already received your details may keep them.

WhatsApp. Each city has a WhatsApp group that members join through an invite link. WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) sees your phone number when you join and processes the group under its own privacy policy. Allen Douglass administers the groups.

Restaurants. Restaurants receive the Club's reservation name, the number and sizes of tables, and the total headcount. They never receive member names, phone numbers or emails.

Service providers that process data on our behalf, under contracts that limit them to providing the service: Stripe — payments and subscription billing; Twilio — text messages, phone-number checks, and the phone numbers and voicemail for each city; Twilio SendGrid — email; Anthropic — automated classification of the text of your replies, restaurant replies, and your LinkedIn headline; Railway — hosting and the database, in the United States; Cloudflare — encrypted backups and stored files; PostHog — website analytics; Sentry and Better Stack — error and uptime monitoring; Google — restaurant location data (this is about restaurants, not about you).

Advertising platforms. We run ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and read back how those ads performed. We do not send your name, phone number, email or any other personal information to advertising platforms, and we do not use their tracking pixels on our site.

Legal. We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, property or safety of the Club, its members or others.

Business changes. If the Club is sold or merged, member information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

4. Text messages

By ticking the consent box when you join, you agree to receive automated text messages from B2B Lunch Club at the mobile number you provided, about your membership and monthly lunch logistics. Expect about 9–12 messages a month around each lunch: the RSVP request and reminder, your restaurant and table details, the day-of confirmation, your follow-up trio, and one feedback question. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages. Because the Club runs on text, stopping messages pauses your participation until you reply START.

Reply HELP for help, or email support@b2blunchclub.com.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. The only parties that see your mobile number are the service providers that deliver our messages (Twilio), the other members described in section 3, and WhatsApp if you join your city's group.

5. Cookies and analytics

The website sets no cookies of its own. It keeps two things in your browser's local storage: the campaign and landing page you arrived from, so we can attach it to your application if you join, and the PostHog analytics identifier described above, which PostHog also mirrors in a cookie. You can block or clear these in your browser and the site still works. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals because there is no industry standard for them, and we do not use third-party advertising cookies or pixels.

6. How long we keep it

Text and email records: 24 months from the date of the message, then deleted by a nightly sweep. Voicemails and transcripts: 12 months, after which the transcript is deleted and the recording removed from Twilio. Membership, seating, trio and rating history: for as long as you are a member and afterwards, because other members' histories reference yours (who sat with whom, who met whom). On request we anonymize your record so that it no longer identifies you (section 8). Consent records (the wording you agreed to, when, and from where): for as long as we could need to demonstrate consent, and at least 5 years. Payment records: as required for tax and accounting purposes, generally 7 years, by Stripe and in our own records. Backups: encrypted database backups are kept for 90 days and then deleted; a record deleted from the live system disappears from backups within that window. Server logs: a few days, held by our hosting provider. Analytics: up to 12 months.

7. How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to member records is limited to the Club's operator and to the service providers named above, each with their own credentials. Every change to a member record made by a person is logged with who made it and when. We store data in the United States. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information we will notify you as the law requires.

8. Your choices and rights

Access, correct, delete. Email support@b2blunchclub.com and we will show you what we hold, correct it, or delete or anonymize it. Deleting your contact details ends your membership, because we cannot seat someone we cannot text. We may keep what we must for tax, accounting or legal reasons.

Stop texts. Reply STOP (section 4).

Cancel. Use the Manage membership link on the site or in your welcome email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Leave the WhatsApp group. Leave the group in WhatsApp at any time; we also remove members who cancel.

Analytics. Block cookies or use a browser extension to stop PostHog from recording your visits.

Do not sell or share. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we share it with, and may request deletion or correction, without discrimination for doing so. We honor these requests from all members, not only Californians. To make a request, email support@b2blunchclub.com from the address on your membership, or text us from your member phone number, so we can confirm it is you. You may authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf; we will ask the agent for proof of your permission.

9. Who may join

Membership is for working professionals and is open only to adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, email support@b2blunchclub.com and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the version and effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you by text or email before it takes effect. The version you accepted is recorded on your membership.
